Top five eligible North Half teams in each of 7 classifications, plus an overall North Half Top 10.

MHSAA Regions 1–2 in 5A, 6A and 7A; Regions 1–4 in the remaining classifications. Eligibility follows this sport’s alignment, not school location alone.
Each edition will show team records, movement from the previous edition, the results cutoff and the reasoning behind each selection.
How we rank boys basketball
Season results, schedule strength and wins against strong opponents establish the order; boys and girls are evaluated separately.
Head-to-head and common opponents separate comparable teams. The last five games inform recent form without replacing the full season.
Scoring margins beyond 20 points add no ranking credit. Rankings reflect team performance rather than individual scoring totals.
These are editorial rankings. Broadcast coverage, sponsorships, fan voting and program reputation do not earn ranking credit. The overall list keeps teams from the same class in the same order as their class list.
