Road To Omaha stories

Back-to-back homers from Will Furniss and Tristan Bissetta in the eighth carried Ole Miss past No. 4 Auburn 5-3 on Saturday, finishing a super-regional sweep and sending the Rebels to their first College World Series since the 2022 national title.

Ole Miss at Auburn, Mississippi State at Georgia, two Mississippi clubs, two road series, one prize. Win this weekend and the state could put two teams in the 2026 College World Series.

The No. 14-seed Bulldogs (43-17) swept Starkville and drew the one team that already has their number. The Athens Super Regional starts Saturday, June 6. Win the best-of-three and it's the College World Series.

Left off the host list two weekends ago, the Rebels are still standing, and a best-of-three at Auburn is all that's between them and the College World Series. Game 1 is Friday, June 5.
