CORINTH — The 3A–4A All-Star Game closed out our first broadcast day under the lights, and it gave the West All-Stars a storybook finish: down to their last at-bat, West put up three runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 6–5 and complete a sweep of all three games at the Corinth Sportsplex.
A short rain shower soaked the field before the game and forced a brief delay, and the weather hung around right to the end — the grounds crew was pulling the tarp toward the infield as the seventh inning played out. Our coverage took its lumps in the dark, too. This was the third game for a one-man crew that had been live since one o'clock, and the play-by-play thinned out as the night went on. We're learning in public, and games like this are exactly how.
What mattered held up: the East carried a one-run lead into the home half of the seventh, and West refused to let the day end on a loss. Three runs later, the home side had walked it off 6–5. The field pulled from across the region: New Albany sent Parker Skinner and Connor Yarbrough to the West roster, while Mooreville (Ethan Cates and Cooper Goff) and Itawamba AHS (Aiden Strong and Ethan Summers) stocked the East. The full rosters for all three games are on each game page.
Three games, one winner. West swept the 1A–2A opener, the 5A–7A thriller, and this 3A–4A nightcap — and North Mississippi Sports Network was on the air for every pitch of it. The full replay lands in the archive. Where North Mississippi plays.
