North Mississippi will have a team to follow in every classification when the MHSAA volleyball state championships begin Thursday in Clinton.
East Union, Center Hill, New Hope, Lewisburg, Kossuth, Ingomar and New Albany have reached the season’s final stage. Seven championship matches across October 15–16 will give those programs an opportunity to bring state titles home. MHSAA
For East Union, the opportunity comes with a chance at perfection. The Urchins enter the Class 2A championship at 32–0, one win away from an undefeated championship season. Standing across the net will be a 28–2 Enterprise-Clarke team when Thursday’s action opens at noon. Mississippi Gridiron
Ingomar carries another major storyline: the pursuit of a fifth consecutive state championship. The Falcons secured their return by sweeping Tupelo Christian Prep in the North Half final. A demanding 29–27 opening set gave way to two more set victories and another trip to Clinton.
According to WTVA, this marks Ingomar’s fifth straight championship appearance, with three trips in Class 2A followed by two in Class 1A. The Falcons face Resurrection Catholic at noon Friday with another trophy within reach. WTVA

Thursday also puts Center Hill, New Hope and Lewisburg in the spotlight. Center Hill meets Hancock for the Class 6A crown, while New Hope challenges Sumrall in Class 5A. Lewisburg closes the opening day against Ocean Springs in a Class 7A matchup featuring two 32–8 teams. Mississippi Gridiron
Friday begins with Kossuth, whose 30–4 season has earned the Aggies a shot at Our Lady Academy in the Class 3A final. After Ingomar’s match, New Albany takes the floor against Choctaw Central in Class 4A. The Bulldogs enter at 32–9 with an opportunity to deliver the final North Mississippi championship of the two-day event. Mississippi Gridiron
New Albany’s return carries championship experience of its own. Hardwired 662 reports that the Bulldogs swept Mooreville 3–0 to reach their third consecutive Class 4A final. Now they will pursue a second straight state championship. The photos accompanying this story capture action from that victory at Mooreville. Hardwired 662
