The conversation does not have to end when the game does. The play everyone is still talking about, the next matchup on the schedule, the team you have followed for years — those conversations deserve a place with people who care about the same school you do.

NMSN’s school fan networks are now open. They give local fans a place to start discussions, reply to one another and keep up with their school’s community throughout the season.

To help those communities get started, the first 25 verified accounts to claim a membership in each school network receive one year of members-only access to that school. No payment card is required, and the free year does not turn into an automatic charge.

Choose your school and claim an available free membership.

A place for your school’s fans

Bring your game-day thoughts, your questions about the next matchup and your support for local teams. Start a conversation or join one already underway. You can add a profile picture and display name, update your sign-in email, and manage your membership from your profile.

Public discussion remains free with a verified-email account. The launch offer adds access to the members-only community for the school you select. It is a community membership offer, not a change to broadcast access.

These are NMSN fan communities. Keep the conversation respectful, especially when talking about students: no personal attacks, rumors, harassment or private information. Read the community rules before joining.

First 25 at each school — one year free

Every school network has its own limit of 25 free-year memberships. Your year begins when your claim succeeds. The join page shows availability; creating an account alone does not reserve a spot.

Choose your school, create an account or sign in using the emailed link, verify your email, and claim an available free membership. Then head into your school’s feed and introduce yourself.

If you already have a paid subscription, manage it before attempting to claim the offer. Claiming a free membership does not cancel or refund an existing subscription.

Stay active to keep your free membership

We want these first memberships to help build real conversations. Keeping yours active is simple: visit that school’s feed while signed in, post, or reply. Any of those actions resets that school’s activity timer. You do not have to post every time you visit.

After 30 days without activity, we flag the free membership and email a warning. After 60 inactive days, free members-only access ends. You will have at least 30 days after a successfully sent warning to return before an inactivity cutoff. Your original one-year expiration still applies.

Your profile, posts and replies stay saved. If free access ends because of inactivity, a paid membership is required to regain members-only access, and you cannot claim another free membership. Returning after the cutoff does not restart the free year. Expired or revoked memberships do not reopen one of the original 25 spots.

This activity rule applies to the first-25 free-year memberships. It does not delete ordinary free accounts or cancel paid subscriptions.

Join the conversation

If your school’s free places have been claimed, members-only access is available for $3.99 a month for one school or $29.99 a month for every school. Paid memberships renew monthly until canceled; billing is managed from your profile through Stripe. At the end of a free year, you can choose whether to purchase a membership. There is no automatic charge.

The best way to help your school’s network get going is to show up: introduce yourself, start a thoughtful conversation and invite another fan to join you.
